Motherhood is hard enough as it is without all the striving to do it all, have it all, and be it all. Ladies, this is where it is so important to find your Mom Tribe, a community of other Momma's who can gather around you and help you to find a little bit of joy and sanity in the journey, teach you to do this thing called life well, and hold you as you cry while telling you that it will all be okay and that you are doing a good job! Join us as we talk about our struggles with the world's expectations for us as Momma's and the why's and how's of building our own Mom Tribes.
In our last episode we mentioned that part of finding rest for our souls is letting go of expectations. And that couldn't be more true for us Momma's of today as the world around us is constantly telling us that we need to:
- solely breastfead
- have a spottless, well-decorated home
- make healthy, balanced meals from scratch
- workout daily
- be a DIY master
- and always be done up, even if we're just at home in a messy bun and leggings
And that's on top of the pressure to be a sexy wife, an entrepreneur, an involved community member, AND an upbeat friend who is constantly hosting events and play dates.
Ladies, motherhood is hard enough as it is without all this striving to do it all, have it all, and be it all.
This is where it is so, so important to find your Mom Tribe: a community of Momma's who can gather around you and help you find a little bit of joy and sanity in the journey, teach you to do this thing called life well, and hold us and tell us that it will all be okay, even though it may seem like the end of the world. These women will tell us that we are actually doing a good job, even though neither us nor or children think we are.
Momma, here us when we say this: you were not meant to do this alone.
